How the Process Works
Our restorative justice process is clear, collaborative, and focused on healing-centered accountability.
Referral
A school, probation officer, county agency, family, or community partner submits a referral.
Intake and Assessment
KFL reviews the referral and identifies the most appropriate trauma-informed and culturally informed service pathway.
Preparation
We meet individually with participants to explain the process, build readiness, and ensure safe engagement.
Restorative Dialogue
Participants engage in conferencing, mediation, or circle-based dialogue focused on impact, accountability, and repair.
Accountability Plan
A written agreement is created with clear steps the youth will take to repair harm.
Follow-Up and Completion
KFL supports progress, monitors completion, and helps the youth move forward with dignity and stronger community connection.
